Easter Bread - Tsoureki
Easter Bread is also known as Tsoureki (Greek: τσουρέκι) , شوريك (Arabic), choreg (Armenian չորեկ), çörək (Azerbaijani), çyrek(Albanian), kozunak (Bulgarian козунак), cozonac (Romanian) or paskalya çöreği (Turkish) is a sweet holiday bread made with flour, milk, butter and sugar and commonly seasoned with orange zest, mastic and mahlab. It is also sometimes called Armenian Easter bread.
Our bread is flavored with traditional mahlab (aromatic spice that derives from the kernel of the black or mahaleb cherry (Prunus mahaleb)) , and mastica (a resin from the mastic tree) and sprinkled with sliced almonds. Incredible flavors of spices makes the bread really special. One bite and you will be in love . Tsoureki bread is delicious toasted with butter, and makes a mouthwatering French toast!
